Navigating our web site is easy. Choosing any of the categories from the main home page takes you directly to our online catalog -- which is where you are now. The buttons down the left side of your browser window are the general categories of products offered by Cooks' Nook. Clicking any of the buttons takes you to our current product offerings for that category, which appear in this frame (this rectangular portion of the browser window).
There are four other areas on our web site that are here as a service to you, our customer. These are accessible by the four text buttons across the top-most frame of your browser window:
The Ordering Info. link calls up our ordering information page which explains how to go about ordering products from Cooks' Nook and contacting us. To find out more about the ordering process, please see the Ordering Products section of this document.
The Tidbits link opens our monthly newsletter. Here you will find exciting information about our products and why we believe they're the best of the Northwest. We will also announce new products and specials in our Tidbits news.
The Help link is how you got to this page. Use it anytime.
the Comments link simply opens a new e-mail message in your browser and allows you to send us your feedback and questions about the site, our products, or cooking in general.

Ordering Products
We use a full-featured shopping and ordering system for your convenience and security. The ShopSite shopping cart system by Open Market allows you to browse through our products and "collect" the products you wish to purchase in a virtual shopping basket.
Here's how it works:
Each product in our on-line catalog has two text buttons associated with it. These are the [Add to Cart] and [View Cart] buttons. When you see a product you wish to purchase, click its associated order button. When you are finished shopping and would like to submit your order to us, click any View Cart button to go to your shopping cart. When you order your first product, a new "shopping cart" will be established and you will be shown the cart and its contents.
While viewing the cart, you can add or subtract from the quantity of products
you wish to order by entering a different number in the "quantity"
box and, where available, you can select from ordering options, the flavor of
Tazo Tea, for example.
If you do NOT wish to see the cart every time you order a product, uncheck the box at the top of the cart screen that says "Show me my shopping cart every time I order something."
Since Cooks' Nook is located in Oregon, one of the few states left without a sales tax, your order will not accrue sales tax.
Cooks' Nook does not charge any handling fees. Shipping charges are calculated based on the total cost of your order as follows:

When you send us your order via the web, your shipping amount will be added to your order total and you will receive a receipt via email. When your order is shipped, we will send you an email notification with the tracking number if your shipment is by FedEx. Shipments by FedEx are to street addresses only within the 48 contiguous states of the U.S. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, PO Boxes and APO/FPO addresses are by USPS Priority Mail.
You may indicate any special instructions in the comments box located on the order page (see below).
All products can be shipped in gift box packaging with tags containing
personalized messages! Type your wishes in the box and be sure to include your
special message for the gift tag, if you've requested one.
If your order will not be shipped to the same address as the bill for the order, check the box below the special instructions box and when you finalize your order, you can specifiy the shipping address.
Select the type of credit card you will be using from the pop-up menu. Cooks'
Nook honors Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. See below if you
prefer not to use a credit card or submit your order on-line.
There are four buttons at the bottom of your shopping cart:
- Return to Shopping: exits the shopping basket screen and returns you to our on-line catalog. Your basket and its contents are preserved. Your order has not been submitted, however, so don't leave the web site until you've finalized your order (see below). You can re-access your cart at any time by ordering another product, or clicking any [View Cart]button.
- Recalculate: If you've changed the quantity of products ordered, you must click this button to have the amount of your order re-totalled. You do not have to use the recalculate button unless you want to see your current total.
- Clear Basket: Clicking here will delete all the products from your basket.
- Finalize order: This button is used when you are finished shopping and now wish to submit your order to us for processing. You will be taken to another screen where your final order and total due (less shipping) is shown. There is a Comments/More Information box for you to request that we e-mail you with the actual amount you will be charged (after shipping). To submit your order, you will need to enter the following:
- Billing name and address
- Shipping name and address
- Credit card information
There is an OK button and a Cancel button at the bottom of this screen. Clicking the OK button submits your order to us and provides you with a receipt of your order. Clicking the Cancel button returns you to the shopping basket screen.
All personal information is protected from prying eyes through data encryption and secure-server technology. We will never use or distribute your personal information in any way except to send you your order.
Of course, the shopping cart system isn't the only way to order products from Cook's Nook. You can still use any of the following methods as alternatives to the on-line system:
